Ms Gallagher said security officers had updated Cabinet about what action had been undertaken over the past weeks "to ensure we are as safe as we can be".
"Whilst we always knew there was, particularly, challenges and risks in Canberra, they are being managed appropriately," she said
Ms Gallagher did not give details about any changes to security in any buildings across the city beyond saying the Australian Federal Police was looking at how its resources were being used across the city.
The police took over security at Parliament House last week after the terror upgrade.
Ms Gallagher said every ACT agency had gone through its emergency plans and its "business continuity systems", and all major events coming up had been assessed in light of the terror threat.
"So everything that can be done is being done and people should be confident that our advisers are working very hard to make sure that we can continue to move around the city as we have done in the past but that there is an extra level of awareness around some potential heightened risks."
