Labor has done its best to attract the baby boomer vote by promising to halve the registration fees for caravans and trailers, saving some owners more than $600 annually.

Chief Minister Andrew Barr said the changes, announced Saturday, would align the ACT with NSW registration fees.
"These new measures will not only simplify how registrations work by harmonising with our larger neighbour, they will also save caravan owners a significant amount across all caravan and trailer weight classes," he said.
"It currently costs $1280 a year to register a caravan with a tare weight of 2505 – 2795 kilos in the ACT - this would drop to $640 per annum."
Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia national chairman Garry Leesaid the decision was an excellent move.
"Canberra has always been recognised as the most expensive place in Australia to register a recreational vehicle, and to some detriment, because people have tended to register RVs in other states as a result," he said.
Mr Lee, from Fadden, said the ACT had been about double most states and would return to near the national average if the changes were made post-election. A motorhome owner, he was disappointed the move did not mention changes to self-propelled motorhomes and campervans.
"We'll go back and push them to include all recreational vehicles," he said.
The announcement came as 700 vehicles, including campervans, motorhomes and caravans parked at EPIC for the club's week-long national rally.
Mr Lee said the caravan and trailer changes would encourage more and more baby boomers to pick up the "great Australian dream" of a caravan and drive around the nation.
The National Rally ends on Friday, October 14.
