More ACT firefighters will be heading to an out-of-control bushfire north of Cooma on Monday. The fire has burnt more than 1000 hectares.

It began on Friday on Shannons Flat Road, 20 kilometres north of Cooma and less than 20 kilometres from the ACT border.
NSW Rural Fire Service firefighters were struggling to bring it under control on Sunday, with 23 fire trucks and 11 firefighting aircraft on the scene during the day.
Unfavourable weather conditions had been forecast for Monday, with high temperatures and strong winds. Firefighters planned to continue back-burning efforts overnight in an attempt to bring the fire under control.
Ten ACT fire crews returned from the fire on Sunday morning, including two heavy tankers and six medium tankers.
The ACT Emergency Service Agency said further deployments would be made on Monday.
The NSW RFS said there were some rural properties in the area and firefighters had spoken to the residents. The blaze did not appear to be threatening any properties on Sunday night and the alert level has been set to Advice. Ben Westcott
