The full line-up, which was announced on Wednesday, boasts some of electronic dance music's biggest names, including international acts Calvin Harris, Skrillex, Tiesto, Diplo, Steve Aoki, Carl Cox and Duke Dumont.
High-profile Australian acts Will Sparks, Timmy Trumpet, Tigerlily and Nina Las Vegas were also named.
Mikah Freeman, one half of house music duo The Aston Shuffle, said he was impressed with the line-up and was looking forward to joining the tour.
''It's amazing – this is the second time we've done the tour with these guys,'' he said.
''[The line-up] is pretty much just all the A-listers you can hope for. They've really nailed the best of the best in each category.''
Freeman, who lives in Canberra with his wife and two daughters when he is not touring, said he was excited to represent the nation's capital among such big international names.
''It's awesome – Canberra might be a small place but we're doing OK. We're making waves in the international music scene,'' he said.
''The great thing about this year's line-up is [it is] 30 to 40 per cent Australian, which is kind of unheard of at a dance festival.''
The strong line-up indicates confidence in the dance music festival, after other Australian festivals have been given the axe.
It was announced in June that the Big Day Out festival has been taken over by an American festival promoter and that next year's event has been cancelled, while the future of the event remains in doubt.
"I've been playing festivals for a few years now. They reached a peak in 2006 and 2007 and the market got pretty flooded hard there," Freeman said.
"With the prices, punters don't have the money to go to all the festivals. I think people have had to pick and choose.''
But Freeman said he has noticed more people returning to both large music festivals and smaller club shows, which encourages artists like himself to hit the road more.
Before Stereosonic, which is held in Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane in November and December, The Aston Shuffle is touring the country, including a show at the ANU Bar on September 16.
"If Canberra wants to get a taste of our set at Stereosonic, come along to the show at ANU Bar," Freeman said.
