ACT Policing has called for witnesses after reports a "recidivist" conman again knocked on the door of an elderly resident in Piper Street in Ainslie last Saturday.
The conman allegedly visited the same address in April 2015, demanding money for work that had been already been paid for the previous day.
After the resident refused to pay, the man forced himself inside, assaulted the resident and took his wallet.
On Saturday, the conman allegedly tried to convince the elderly man his gutters needed cleaning for $250. The victim said he recognised the offender and declined his offer.
The alleged offender is described as 6' tall (183cm), stooped with a shambling walk, Caucasian, 50 to 60-years-old, with an Australian accent. He had short, very thin hair with a large bald area on top and was wearing grey pants.
Police asked anyone who may have seen this man or have CCTV footage that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au.
