Police are hunting an armed bandit who held up a 7-Eleven service station on Erindale Drive, Wanniassa, with a makeshift spear in the early hours of the morning.

Police said the caucasian man, who was about 180-190cm (5'10" to 6'2"), threatened a member of staff with a knife attached to a stick and demanded cash at about 2.30am, Saturday, June 7.
ACT Policing said the 7-Eleven staff complied with the demands and handed over cash. The thief then ran away, in the direction of Erindale Drive and Ashley Drive.
