The single building is set to be 12-metre high and about 26,050 square metres with retail areas, a restaurant, warehouse and loading areas, amenities and staff areas.
The adjoining car park will have 705 customer spots, with 89 car parks for staff and 10 spaces for cars and trailers.
The arrival of the Scandinavian furniture warehouse was confirmed in May when Planning Minister Simon Corbell approved a variation to the territory plan and the large site near Canberra Airport to be re-zoned.
The development application was lodged at the end of July and included a new link road to connect to the existing intersection of Majura Road and Spitfire Avenue so customers can access the store.
Back in May Minister Corbell said giving the multi-national the green light in Canberra was in line with the government's planning strategy for the eastern area near the airport to be identified for industrial projects to stimulate the job market.
