Freeman had been denied bail over allegations he committed a string of crimes, including suspicions he crashed a stolen car and severely injured a teenage girl who was a passenger.

The prison bashing left Freeman fighting for his life and with bleeding to the brain. He was resuscitated by prison guards and rushed to hospital.
Last week, the court heard evidence a CCTV camera that covered the front of his cell in its default position had been repositioned at some point before the attack.
The ACT Magistrates Court is currently hearing Freeman's third bail application. That application has now been on foot for three weeks, and was delayed for the third time on Monday.
Freeman's lawyers are arguing he cannot be kept safely in the prison and should be released.
The hearing adjourned last week to allow for the production of medical treatment records relating to Freeman's time in custody following the assault.
Magistrate Peter Dingwall wants to know whether the treatment offered at the prison is adequate for Freeman's injuries, or whether he needs more specialist care available only outside.
A subpoena was issued to the Justice and Community Safety Directorate to obtain the records, but the court heard on Monday morning that his medical notes from prison had not been produced.
It was noted the subpoena may have needed to go to the Health Directorate, which has responsibility for medical treatment at the prison.
Early on Monday morning, Mr Dingwall expressed his frustration at the lack of records before him, particularly because Freeman had given consent for the government to release all his medical records.
"I hope I'm not being toyed with," Mr Dingwall said.
"But if they want to keep the court informed I should be given all the records. I shouldn't need a subpoena," he said.
"I want his medical records from the AMC, whoever holds them."
Later on Monday afternoon, the court was informed that the subpoena had in fact been sent to the wrong directorate.
Freeman's lawyer Michael Lalor said they had been told the Justice and Community Safety Directorate was the correct area to send the subpoena to.
The bail hearing has been adjourned to Friday to allow time to obtain the documents from ACT Health.
Mr Dingwall has already told the court he is not convinced by the argument that Freeman should be released because he can't be kept safely in prison.
