Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au installed Labor this morning as $1.10 favourite to be the choice of the sole surviving ACT Green.
The Liberals are outsiders at $6.00, according to the gambling site, as the two major parties continue their talks with Mr Rattenbury today.
Sportsbet halted betting the day before the October 20 election and payed out $20,000 to about 300 punters who backed Ms Gallagher to win the poll.
The agency’s public relations manager Shaun Anderson said he and his colleagues were holding their breath on Mr Rattenbury’s decision after paying out early on the unexpectedly close election.
“While the final decision comes down solely to Rattenbury it looks a safe bet that Labor will continue to hold power in the ACT and be his choice,” Mr Anderson said.
“Given that we paid out for Labor to win the election before the votes were even done, needless to say we are holding our breath to see which way he goes.”
