Papalii, brother of rugby league star Josh, is accused of robbing the FoodWorks supermarket in Pearce twice.
He allegedly told staff he had a gun and asked for money, although no gun was seen by workers.
Papalii is also accused of attempting to rob the Five Star Supermarket in Spence that night.
Police were later told that Papalii was hiding in bushes in Pearce.
They attempted to arrest him, but one officer was allegedly thrown to the ground.
The case came back before the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday, and Papalii entered pleas of not guilty, before being given a case management hearing date.
Papalii is on bail.
The last time Papalii was in court, it was revealed that he had consumed two cases of beer in a 24-hour period at the time of the offences.
That helped explain his bizarre actions, the court heard, and allowed the court to release him on bail, without fear he would reoffend.
