A grass fire off the Hume Highway north-west of Canberra has burnt out more than 40 hectares.
The fire at Bookham is being controlled by the NSW Rural Fire Service and poses no immediate danger.
The fire is not impacting traffic on the Hume Highway, according to the Live Traffic NSW website. It is one of two burning in the greater Canberra region.
A 50-hectare fire on Tarrants Gap Road at Reids Flat, north of Boorowa, is also under control.
The bush fire danger rating has been set at very high throughout the ACT, the southern and central ranges.
Canberra's temperature will climb to 35 degrees on Monday, 36 on Tuesday and 37 on Wednesday.
