A bushfire wasburning out of control on Jerangle Road, Captains Flat, about an hour south-east of Canberra on Saturday.
Fire services were called to the area just after 4.30pm on Saturday. There is no indication of how the fire started.
Four fire crews from NSW Rural Fire Service were on the scene responding to the fire.
A spokesman from NSW RFS said on Saturday night the small fire, about one hectare in size, was burning in a remote area, and crews were working to control it.
It was expected to be brought under control shortly.
There is no threat to property. The alert level is set to advice.
