Thirty Australian and international brewers will come to Beer Week and the Beer Day Out for beer-themed events that include dinners, trivia nights, "tap takeovers" and meet-and-greets with brewers.

Festival co-organiser Anthony Young, of Plonk Beer and Wine in Fyshwick, said there was a healthy craft brew community in Canberra, with many venues supporting local and national craft brewers.

The festival's Beer Day Out will also expand in 2015 to cope with demand. Mr Young said more than 1000 people were turned away from the day last year after the event was sold out.

He said the event had grown to include Friday night and Saturday. Organisers are expecting more than 7000 people at events throughout Beer Week.

Minister Mick Gentleman launched the event on Wednesday evening, using the opportunity to say the ACT government wanted to "foster" venues such as Bentspoke and was "committed to reducing red tape for the hospitality sector as a whole".

"Canberra is well renowned for our outstanding wines, and there are a number of events on the calendar each year celebrating this very fact," he said in a statement.

"But only recently have we added top-quality beer to the mix, and it is wonderful to see our local brewing industry taking off and receiving the same recognition for producing exceptional local drops."

Canberra Beer Week will run from November 5 to 11, 2015. The Beer Day Out is on November 6 and 7.
