A MOZART MASTERPIECE
10.30am: James Levine conducts a new Met production of Le Nozze di Figaro, directed by Richard Eyre, who sets the action of the comic opera in a 19th-century manor house in Seville during the gilded age of the late 1920s. Ildar Abdrazakov leads the cast in the title role of the clever servant, opposite Marlis Petersen as his bride, Susanna. 2pm: The Jerrry Herman musical La Cage Aux Folles is about long-time partners Georges and Albin, who find their lives thrown into chaos when their son announces he is getting married. The call to arms explores the political events which led to Australia's involvement in the First World War, from the outbreak of war in August to the first convoy's departure in November 1914. 4.30pm: Screening as part of the British Film Festival, The Sea (M, 2014) is based on John Banville's Man Booker Prize winning novel.
