If the Gazillion Bubble Show is anything to go by, the answer is a resounding no.

A mainstay on Broadway for a decade, the show is visiting Australia for the first time.

Bubble master Melody Yang has been performing bubble tricks since she was four, and despite doing hundreds of shows a year, it's something she never tires of.

"I love the feeling of joy that you get out of it from everybody. Everybody's always in a good mood when they see bubbles, everybody's always happy. It's a great environment with positive energy everywhere," she said.

"And this is what I love. I've tried other jobs and other things and it hasn't been the same – this is something that's really great to be around."

For the kids in the audience, the screams start even before the first bubble is blown, such is the anticipation of giant, soapy creations.

It's hard to imagine enough bubble tricks to fill a full show, but Yang's tricks keeps young and old transfixed for the full 70 minutes.

Using specially designed soap liquid – they go through around 200 litres per show – Yang creates bubbles within bubbles, square bubbles, smoke bubbles, spinning bubbles, rainbow bubbles, ice cream bubbles and some lucky audience members get put inside bubbles.

It's a family tradition for 25-year-old Yang, whose parents have been performing bubble tricks for more than 20 years and hold 17 Guinness world records.

"I was never forced into it – my father always told me that I can always do whatever it is that I want to and I did take some time to go to school and figure out what it was, but in the end I know that this is what I love to do."

And if the bubble tricks aren't enough, there's really nothing quite like watching hundreds of kids explode from their seats as thousands of bubbles rain over the entire audience for the finale, combined with a light and sound show to rival a night out in Ibiza.

"I don't think age matters: the adults they love it, the teens they love it, we really try and focus on the show for everybody," she said.

"But that end part – people just go nuts."
