The interactive website puts the viewer in the pilot's seat to navigate four 360-degree panoramas of Canberra, each created with photos captured from a helicopter in mid-May.
Melbourne-based photographer and Lensaloft director Andrew Griffiths has used the camera system he built from scratch to capture aerial views of most Australian capital cities.
"[I] have the pilot hover in position and do a pivot turn and I stand on the skids and shoot photos in all directions and stich them all together," he said.
"It's my job but this … interactive imagery is my way of sharing my world from the sky and it's something that a lot of people wouldn't get to see otherwise.
"It's kind of like Google Earth in the way you can interact with it, but I like to think it's more aesthetically pleasing."
While he doesn't have a favourite city, the ex-Canberran said the capital's symmetry was its most striking feature from the sky.
"Seeing all those roads branching out from the roundabouts was pretty stunning and no other city really compares to that," he said.
"Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are good for their high rises.
"They're all different and that's what makes my job so interesting."
So far in Canberra Mr Griffiths has captured aerial views of the CBD, the lake, and Parliament House from 2000 and 1000 feet.
Each panorama features up to 30 photos merged together thanks to "hours of Photoshop" and web coding.
The process is costly, requiring permission to hover the helicopter over the nation's landmarks at night with no headlights and a specialist pilot.
"We were initially a bit nervous about [flying over Parliament House]," he said.
Fortunately Parliament security, the AFP and air traffic control OK'd the flight, but it still created some concern.
"We were getting all these tweets from people who were worried there was a helicopter hovering over Parliament with its lights off," he said.
He hopes to return later in the year to capture the Telstra Tower on Black Mountain, the Australian War Memorial, the Canberra Airport, and the outer suburbs near the Australian Institute of Sport and Woden.
Picking the weather can also be tricky; if cloud cover is too low the helicopter can't fly.
"At the moment you get crisp, chilly, Canberra evenings and that means you get really clear skies, there's still a few reddish leaves on the trees to provide a bit of colour," he said.
In the future Mr Griffiths hopes to capture Darwin, Surfers Paradise, Hobart and Alice Springs.
He is one of few photographers using the technique.
"There's a mob in Russia who have a millionaire backer who do quite a bit, but there's not much in Australia or this region," he said.
