Autumn has turned the ginkgo leaves butter yellow and the sugar maples flaming red, but there is still a single cucumber vine twining around the blue salvias. Just one, out of about six cucumber vines that fruited all summer ... and fruited and fruited till it became impossible to give the blessed things away.
