Little Shop of Horrors at the Canberra Theatre is a monster musical

A 1960 low-budget black-comedy horror movie shot in a few days might not seem the likeliest source material for a classic musical. But Little Shop of Horrors is not, perhaps, the most typical example of the genre. The darkly comic musical is the show that put composer Alan Menken and lyricist Howard Ashman on the map before their collaborations on such Disney hits as The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast.
