Hidden gem? Cocktail making at Molly, Breakfast at The Knox in Watson, a wander around Pialligo, a steak at QT and something so naughty from Fruggi that I no longer have to say, "let's go to Fruggi" I just point to my belly and make truffle pig noises. I should probs point out here that I like food.
Weekend haunt? When I'm not eating it I'm shopping for it so the Fyshwick Markets for food shopping and a catch up with my sister over coffee and cake. Sunday is always breakfast out - Trev's, The Knox, Tilleys or Ivy and The Fox. If The Forage is on then the weekend becomes a battle between me and "what looks ok but has an elasticised waist band?" and "are tracksuit bottoms acceptable when clearly not being worn as active wear?"
Place to take visitors? War Memorial (great cafe), National Gallery (awesome cafe), Portrait Gallery (gorgeous gift shop), The Hamlet (food vans!) and Kingston Foreshore - yep, food-based.
People watching spot? It doesn't get better than Lonsdale Street. Biased? Maybe. But [Belinda Whitney] and I can literally waste an entire lunchtime watching the hilarity that is our community.
Place to unwind? Serious unwinding can never be done on home turf because unless you are gifted with a house full of servants there is always something that needs to be done and it's not relaxing filling your weekend with Sex in the City reruns whilst eating Bubbly chocolate and crisps on the sofa if no one else is doing the washing, vacuuming or weeding the garden. If I need to unwind I head up the north coast to spend the weekend with my mum. Holidays are like an endangered species when you run a small business - rare, not seen often but cherished.
Treat? I'd love to say a facial, manicure, massage and botox sesh but let's be honest, one look at this pic and you'll see that none of that is happening. Treats at the moment are a weekend filled with such vigorous tasks like remote control ownership and whether or not to go and get coffee and of course - "is this the weekend I tackle Ikea?"
