Not least because it has supported a range of causes over the years including Alzheimer's Australia ACT, a local family dealing with the cruelty of muscular dystrophy, the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, and Bosom Bodies for breast cancer awareness.

Steve Doszpot's 10th Annual Charity Trivia Night will be held at the end of the month. And it will also be his final.

But fear not. It has nothing to do with his health (Mr Doszpot was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Happily, he told us on Friday, he is "travelling quite well. Thank God".)

No, the end of the trivia nights is simply to investigate other fundraising options and reinvigorate the effort.

"I'm certainly not stopping my commitment to raising funds for charities and highlighting their activities," he said.

The final trivia night, then, will also be something of a reunion for all those groups and individuals who have benefited over the last decade.

"It's not goodbye but an opportunity for people to celebrate the last 10 years," Mr Doszpot said.

Alzheimer's Australia ACT chair Greg Fraser said the 2015 trivia night raised more than $30,000 for that organisation which was "fantastic".

"But more than that, it allowed us to get our message to 500 people about what we do and how we're doing it," Mr Fraser said.

The last trivia night is Friday, June 30 from 6.30pm at the Hellenic Club of Canberra in Woden. The beneficiary this year will be the Heart Foundation of the ACT. Bookings can be made at this link
