Kirkpatrick is known as the Champagne Dame and works to promote the French wine region throughout Australia, hosting international tours to the great French maisons and running champagne appreciation masterclasses.
The dinner at Ottoman is part of her "Sens Inverse" tour - a series of dinners around the country with champagne tasted in reverse. It will begin with demi-sec champagne and then move through the wines finishing with the blanc de blancs.
Kirkpatrick will also tell the story of champagne glassware - the evolution of the flute glass intertwined with the history of the actual wine.
