* The Old Bus Depot Markets kicks off its Christmas markets this weekend, opening both Saturday and Sunday, and you can also give a little back to the local community with the Giving Tree which will assist local charity, Marymead. The markets' Giving Tree will have gift tags for varying ages and people can have fun picking something appropriate.

* The Kmart Wishing Tree works with the Salvation Army and Mission Australia. Gifts for children and adults can be purchased in store or purchased from any retailer and dropped off. They don't need to be wrapped.

* The 666 ABC Giving Tree is accepting donations until noon on December 9. Help the children, young people and families Anglicare supports this Christmas by donating non-perishable food items and personal and household items.

* Place unwrapped presents and non-perishable food items at the Airport Business Parks Giving Tree at Cafe Avion in Brindabella Business Park or at Westpac in Majura Park until December 23.

* The UnitingCare and Target Christmas Appeal allows people to drop off gifts at any Target store.

* Members of ClubsACT are supporting two important local charities with their giving trees.

The St Vincent de Paul Giving Trees can be found at Canberra Southern Cross Club and Raiders Weston.

The Barnardos Wishing Tree is at the Mawson Club and Raiders Belconnen.
