Work on the Gungahlin to Mitchell section of the track is currently concentrated at the busy intersection of Nullarbor Avenue and Flemington Road.

Here, construction crews are digging drainage ditches, installing wiring for traffic signals, resurfacing the road and laying the concrete slab for the eventual track.

Crews will be working through the night to complete work at the intersection over the next few weeks.

Further north, workers have already begun laying the concrete slab for the track on Mapleton Avenue near the Gungaderra Bridge.

And crews are continuing to erect hoardings, install drainage and dig-up old paving in preparation for earth works on Gungahlin's Hibberson Street.

The section of the light rail connecting Mitchell to Dickson is also taking shape, with contractors widening the road in anticipation of track work taking place later this year.

Stage 2 of the light rail project, connecting Woden with the city centre, is undergoing community consultation as planners consider possible route designs and stop locations.

Residents have also been given one last chance to have their say on proposed designs for the 12 light rail stops connecting Gungahlin Place with Eloura Street in Braddon.

Territory Transport Minister Meegan Fitzharris previously described how the design of the stops had been inspired by the Brindabella Ranges.

"These stops will form a very critical part of the light rail network but they are of course also on our major gateways," she said.

"They're also on the entry way to the nation's capital, so the National Capital Authority have been deeply involved with working through this design phase.

"They will be doing the works approval and I understand they're also very happy with the designs."

Applications for the designs have been lodged with the National Capital Authority and the ACT Planning and Land Authority, with public consultation closing on Friday June 2.
