The season launched with promises of a new house full of surprises, new rules and the most controversial housemates, with Sonia Kruger hosting the show for the third season.
Dressed in a red suit coat, pink checked shirt, multi-coloured bow tie and blue pocket square, 26-year-old Roses becomes the second housemate from the nation's capital in the show's history.
The Luton Properties director is a born and bred local, and is a former Marist College Canberra and University of Canberra student.
Canberra's only previous housemate was then waitress Brigitte Stavaruk who lasted 73 days in the house in 2008 and was touted as a potential winner.
Roses is no stranger to talking excessively and thinking on his feet, having won the 2010 Auctioneer Award and 2012 Senior Auctioneer Award at the REIACIT Awards for Excellence.
This year was the first that auditions were held in Canberra for the show, with hundreds lining up at Hotel Realm in Barton in May.
In an interview prior to entering the house, Roses said he was looking forward to enjoying " a great break" in the house, and that his big interest is extra-terrestrial life.
"I believe in UFOs and aliens. I have watched quite literally hundreds and hundreds of documentaries about aliens and UFOS and conspiracy theories about 9/11, the Pentagon etc," he said.
"So many unexplained things that have occurred during our history that people cannot explain."
He also said his biggest hate is bullies.
"If someone has been intentionally mean to someone I will stick up for them. No matter how big they are," he said.
Big Brother continues on WIN on Tuesday September 9 at 8.40pm.
