The hundreds of trees struck down by unseasonably wild weather at the weekend took its toll on stretched ACT government services.

Transport Canberra and City Services operations supervisor John Peri said about 400 trees had either fallen or lost major limbs since Friday evening.
He said ten 10 staff attended 76 calls from the public in relation to fallen trees, many of which caused significant damage around Canberra, on Saturday.
"There has been a lot of great danger, a lot of fallen trees that have been potentially hazardous," he said.
"We have had trees fall over houses, we have had trees fall over cars, we have had trees fall over main roads such as on Barry Drive on Friday."
Two SES crews also spent six hours at a Kambah house on Friday after a tree crashed into the roof.
The bureau of meteorology recorded wind gust in Canberra of up to 78km/h on Friday night, while gusts of up to 65km/h have hit the ACT in the days since.
Mr Peri said there was a heightened sense of anxiety amongst workers who had to make quick judgements about prioritising jobs based on potential danger.
"Part of the anxiety is caused by being stretched and it is difficult to manage, and then we have to address fatigue management," Mr Peri said.
"We are out there to make areas safe as quickly as possible but it is very difficult when you have hundreds of calls made."
Despite crews recently facing the kind of storms they don't usually encounter until the end of spring, Mr Peri praised their hard work.
He urged the public to understand there would be a delay in regular work such as tree maintenance as staff clean up the remaining trees, branches and other debris.
"It has been an outstanding effort by crews, but it might take four to six weeks to get through everything," he said.
And they could face a couple more cold fronts before the clean-up is finished.
Gusty winds sweeping across the peaks surrounding the capital sparked a severe weather warning for parts of the ACT and Snowy Mountains for Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
Damaging winds averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of more than 90 km/h were expected to re-develop, though Canberra would likely be protected from the worst of the weather.
Another cold front was expected to move through on Wednesday evening before winds eased and temperatures warmed up later in the week.
Wednesday and Thursday were tipped to reach 11 degrees, followed by 12 on Friday and 14 on both weekend days.
