Gungahlin general duties and criminal investigations officers who searched the Paul Coe Crescent house about 6pm also found a number of chainsaws which, like the boat, were believed to be stolen, as well as a hydroponic set-up.
ACT Policing said a 29-year-old man who lived at the house might have to face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
Gungahlin Station officer-in-charge, station sergeant Rod Anderson said the search came after a tipoff from the public.
"Outcomes like this demonstrate the value of information provided to police by the community," sergeant Anderson said.
"We would encourage people to call police or Crime Stoppers to provide information, regardless of how relevant or irrelevant they believe the information to be."
