Management and technology services company Cordelta and fitness company Les Mills Asia Pacific were included in Business Review Weekly's Great Place to Work list.
Cordelta came 10th on the list this year, with Les Mills coming in at No.28.
After a review of 179 workplaces and feedback from more than 25,000 employees, the top spot was taken out by financial services and insurance company Optiver.
Cordelta was the sole ACT company on the list last year, coming seventh.
The Phillip-based company is on the list for the third time since the comparisons began in 2010, and has grown from a two-man start-up in 2004 to have a force of 120, with more than 90 per cent of staff in Canberra.
The company's managing director and co-founder Ken Gutterson said a generous share and bonus scheme and supportive work environment were behind the company's popularity.
"One of the good things is it is owned by the employees. After six months they're entitled to a certain [share] allocation, and every six months after they're entitled to another allocation.
"It's a pretty strong culture. There's a lot of autonomy, people aren't micromanaged in that people are supported to receive an outcome."
He said the company had an annual turnover of about $30 million and clients in three states, but about 65 per cent of its work came from the Canberra public service.
Les Mills is based in Deakin and runs its fitness programs and instructor training courses in 12 countries throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
The top-50 list is out in Thursday's BRW.
