Corin Road west of Canberra will be closed from October until early 2016 while part of the top of the Corin Dam wall is upgraded.

An Icon Water spokeswoman said the road formed the top of the dam wall and a portion would be removed to access erosion.
The earth and rock-fill embankment dam was completed in 1968.
Icon said the work was essential to enhance the dam and ensure the integrity of the wall and upgrade the road crossing.
Work will begin on October 7. Corin Dam and Corin Road will be closed from the Square Rock car park. The walking track between Corin Dam and Stockyard Spur and the toilet block and picnic facilities at the dam will be closed.
