Cyclist hit by truck on Constitution Avenue

A cyclist has been taken to Canberra Hospital after she was hit by a truck on Constitution Avenue.

Paramedics treated the 19-year-old woman at the scene for head and pelvic injuries.

She has been taken to hospital in a stable condition.

An ACT Policing spokeswoman said the woman was hit by a truck.

Police and paramedics attended and the road was closed, but was reopened shortly before 4pm.

It is the second time in a week that a pedestrian or cyclist has been hit by a vehicle on Constitution Avenue.

A 44-year-old woman was taken to Canberra Hospital on Thursday morning after she was hit by a car on Constitution Avenue in Reid.

The woman sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance in a stable condition, emergency services said.
