ACT Policing said a man was driving along Wanganeen Avenue when he noticed the alleged offender, whose facelift is pictured, standing in the middle of the road shortly before 6pm on June 21.
When the driver stopped his red Holden Commodore station wagon, a second man entered the vehicle and threatened the driver with a knife. The man who had been standing in the road also got into the station wagon and demanded the driver take them to Nicholls shops, where he was forced to withdraw cash from an ATM.
The two men then demanded to be driven to Gold Creek, where they jumped out in the car park of the George Harcourt Inn and ran towards the Barton Highway.
The first man - believed to be aged in his mid-30s - has been described as Caucasian, around 180cm tall with a narrow face and pointed chin. At the time of the aggravated robbery, he was clean shaven, wearing black pants, a hoodie and black gloves.
The second offender is described as Caucasian, around 170cm tall with a round face, red “blotchy” skin. He is believed to be aged in his late-30s and was wearing a dark hoodie and dark gloves at the time.
Anyone who recognises the man pictured is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
