Crew have been working in rotating shifts to extinguish the fire which began on Saturday.
An ACT Emergency Service spokesperson said that as the fire was not able to be put out, it would have to burn out, so crews were working with Canberra Concrete Recyclers and using their on-site heavy machinery to pull apart and wet the large rubbish pile.
An ACT Emergency service spokesman said the pile of builders' waste, which initially stood six metres high, was gradually getting smaller.
"It is likely to take until the latter part of this week to fully extinguish the fire," the spokesman said.
