A bulldog has wriggled itself out of a concrete power pole in Conder after a three-hour rescue operation led by ACT Fire and Rescue.

Richardson's Billy Blacker said he nearly got stuck inside the pole at Tuggeranong Hill himself when he chased after his bulldog, Chief, who crawled into the pole and became trapped about 10.30am.
"I went in half way into the pole and couldn't grab him," Mr Blacker said.
"I could barely move and was nearly stuck but thought it would cause a little more trouble if I didn't back out."
ACT Fire and Rescue sent two off-road vehicles to the trapped animal used fibre-optic cameras to try to rescue him.
at about 2:30pm the dog wriggled himself out.
"We had about 12 people here ready to cut him out and then he just walked out like nothing had happened," Br Blacker said.
"It was just a relief. He is a champion and just wanted a crowd to show off to."
Mr Blacker said Chief was safe and well but was very fatigued.
"He just needs a big wash and a good sleep," Mr Blacker said,
