The 27-year-old Macgregor man was summonsed by the Australian Federal Police Professional Standards unit over an allegation he breached the secrecy provisions of the Australian Federal Police Act of 1979.
It will be alleged that the breach of the secrecy provisions occurred on April 24 last year, when the man, then a probationary constable at the Tuggeranong Police Station, made a record of a video on a mobile phone that was not required in the performance of his duty.
The man has since resigned from the AFP.
He is due to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.
