Actor Paul ‘Hoges’ Hogan and Grammy Award winning singer Cyndi Lauper have announced they will both be dropping into the capital in the coming months.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of her groundbreaking album She’s So Unusual Lauper will perform each and every song at the Canberra Theatre on August 31.
Lauper, one of the original advocates for “girl power”, achieved critical and commercial success with her anthems Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Time After Time in the late ‘80s.
Since then she has become a darling of the theatre world. Her musical Kinky Boots took out six Tony Awards at this year’s awards ceremony on Monday, including Best Original Score.
Paul Hogan, aka the blonde, ‘80s version of Hugh Jackman with a penchant for knives, will take centre stage to talk and reminisce about his 40-year colourful and controversial career.
The man who threw a “shrimp on the barbie”, wore an Akubra on Fifth Avenue and knows a thing or two about off-shore accounting will kick off his An Evening with Hoges national tour in Canberra on November 19.
Tickets for both events are now available from Ticketek and canberraticketing.com.au
