ACT Policing said officers were called to the Belconnen Churches Centre about 8.20pm on Thursday night, amid reports of loud noises coming from the premises.
Officers searched the property and found two men drinking beer in a stairwell. One man fled after spotting the approaching officers, and the second man, an 18-year-old from Griffith, was apprehended by police.
It will be alleged the man assaulted the arresting officer.
He was taken to the ACT Watch House, and will face the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday morning, charged with assaulting a territory official causing actual bodily harm.
