A car colliding with a guard rail on Horse Park Drive has caused traffic chaos and left a $35,000 clean-up bill.

Police are seeking witnesses to the crash, which happened about 4pm on Tuesday April 11, 200 metres west of the Federal Highway overpass.

The collision cast 200 metres of the rail's steel cabling and support posts across both westbound lanes of Horse Park Drive, causing traffic delays and possible damage to other cars.
Transport Canberra and City Services confirmed the damage to the guard rail cost $35,000.
On Saturday, ACT Policing urged witnesses to the crash or anyone with dashcam footage of the area at the time to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting reference 6092617.
