A sawn-off rifle has been recovered from a stolen car in Amaroo, police said.

Police patrolling Bywaters Street in Amaroo noticed the white Toyota Prado parked outside a house about 11.20pm on Wednesday night, ACT Policing said.
The car had been stolen during a burglary in Ngunnawal on August 10.
Inside, police uncovered a sawn-off bolt-action rifle and ammunition.
ACT Policing seized the car and the weapon, both of which will be examined forensically.
Police believe the car was left in Bywaters Street between 10pm and 11.20pm on Wednesday night and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the vehicle in the area to come forward.
