Up to 300 members attended the drawn-out meeting at the Narrabundah club, according management committee spokesman Tony Millar.

The management dispute has plagued the club for months, resulting in president Hans Stoehr dismissing the group last month only to have his decision overturned in the ACT Magistrate's Court.

Mr Millar previously said he aired the conflict because of concerns over governance.

After last night's heated meeting he resigned from the committee and intends to revoke his membership.

"The bottom line is the president won and we lost and I've resigned," he said.

Mr Millar said the majority of members were prepared to waiver management and rule breaches and endorse the president.

He believed many attendees, who he said were mostly older members, seemed to have made up their mind prior to the discussion.

"They actually heckled us and yelled and screamed in the most appalling way," he said.

"[Many people] were not prepared to listen to what was being said. It's a battle I can't win. I'm out."

Mr Millar said all management positions would be spilled and elections held at a later date after Oktoberfest.

Aside from deciding upon re-elections, he said no formal resolutions were made.

Mr Millar said committee member had put in a huge effort to ensure the success of the club.
