The National Capital Authority and firefighters will conduct the burn of a small area of grassy woodland at Stirling Park from about 10am to 7pm, weather permitting.
The burn will reduce fuel loads, promote native grass growth and reduce exotic weed species in the area.
The Health Directorate has advised people with asthma or other chronic respiratory or cardiac diseases to avoid vigorous exercise and to stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma should continue their medication and see their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
