Statistics issued by RP Data reported that the western suburb had a median house price of $382,000.
It's more than double the cost of Australia's most affordable near-to-city suburb of Herdsman Cove in Hobart, which had a median house price of $138,000.
The most affordable suburb for unit prices within 20km of Canberra CBD was Scullin with a median cost of $259,000. Woodbridge in Brisbane was listed as the least expensive with a median unit price of $190,000.
The data, issued today, examined property prices in capital city suburbs located within 20km to the CBD.
Holt, Macgregor, Ngunnawal and Richardson rounded out the top five suburbs for affordable houses in the capital.
