The ski resort’s latest photos reveal several mountains covered in thick snow.
Staff members at the resort said it was already starting to look like winter.
A large cover of snow settled on the resort after it received about 10 to 15 centimetres of snow on Anzac Day. An earlier snow blast hit the valley two weeks ago.
Perisher’s employees said the early snowfalls were generating excitement among staff and guests. They said they were hoping for more pre-season wintry blasts, which could come as early as next week.
‘‘It could be mistaken for June, not April,’’ they said yesterday. ‘‘It might be time to start planning your next snow holiday.’’
Weatherzone meteorologist Ben Domensino said there had been no more snow in the area since Anzac Day.
He said it was unlikely more snow would accumulate before next week.
‘‘There won’t be any rain to cause snow the next few days,’’ he said.
‘‘But a high pressure system is moving in from the west, which generally brings clearer skies at night and lighter winds, which cause significant temperature drops.’’
Mr Domensino said it would remain cool in the Snowy Mountains this weekend, especially early in the morning. Perisher could see repeated overnight temperatures near of below zero tomorrow and Sunday.
Daytime temperatures are expected to rise on Monday, with a top of 10 degrees forecast in Perisher. It could reach 11 degrees on Tuesday.
