Debbie Hartley's photo, dubbed Bubble Freeze, beat hundreds of other entries to win, something the Kambah woman didn't expect after playing around with her granddaughter's bubble mix one frosty morning.
The three competition winners gathered outside The Canberra Times building in Fyshwick last night with their collection of cameras - a Nikon, Canon and ''just a little'' Fujifilm camera owned by second-place winner Kiri Schultz.
The Wamboin woman said she captured the image of a plane landing on a minus 5 morning on a whim, when she was taking her partner his forgotten lunch. ''I'm only learning, so I was shocked when I got the call,'' she said.
Toni Keen was also out in the cold to capture her shot, which won her third prize.
''I live on a property out near Gundaroo,'' she said. ''I was just driving out one morning and I saw the alpacas all covered in frost.''
