ACT Fire and Rescue arrived to find the Carleton Street home engulfed in flames and its roof partially collapsed shortly after 11am.
No one was at home at the time.
Police and fire investigators who examined the site believed the fire was deliberately lit and deemed it suspicious.
ACT Policing said its criminal investigations detectives were now investigating the incident.
Police would like to speak to the owner of a vehicle that had a trailer attached and was parked in the driveway of 6 Carleton Street, Kambah with a trailer attached between 10am and 11am on Thursday.
