The Land Development Agency auctioned four blocks for a combined total of 166 dwellings at Canberra Business Event Centre on Wednesday.
Three of the sites were purchased by Oriental Companion Property for $14.35 million.
These consisted of two 6326 square metre sites holding up to 44 dwellings each and one 5610 square metre block for up to 39 dwellings.
The remaining block was sold to the Keggins International Investment Group for $4.16 million.
There were 26 registered bidders for the auction event, which was considered another strong result for the Canberra property market in the latter part of the year.
Last week the government sold all 124 blocks of land in the first residential release for Lawson for an average $114,000 over the reserve price netting almost $56 million.
Buyers for the land, which will settle at the earliest by 2014, paid a total of $14 million over the reserve.
Land Development Agency executive director of land development Chris Reynolds said the first four medium density sites in the suburb had sold "significantly above reserve".
He said when taking the two auction events together it showed the uniqueness of the Lawson site had appealed to both business and mum and dad purchasers.
Mr Reynolds said the recent strong results at government auction events was good news for the industry that had been recorded against a perceived downturn in the property market.
"I think in particular the last few weeks we've seen an increase in confidence and market strength," he said.
In late November the government sold five blocks of land at the Amaroo Group Centre to clear just over $9 million.
Oriental Companion Property purchased three of the four blocks of land at the site.
Spokesman Tony Pan said at the time the company had built houses in Crace and Weston Creek and were looking to bring some innovative housing to other parts of Canberra.
