Just hours after he stepped aside as Tony Abbott's Assistant Treasurer, Liberal Senator Arthur Sinodinos was guest of honour at a Canberra fund-raiser on Wednesday night.

The ACT Liberal Party had promoted the $250-a-head dinner at Canberra's Commonwealth Club ''in honour'' of Senator Sinodinos.
A spokesman confirmed Opposition Leader Jeremy Hanson and senior members of the Canberra Liberals team would attend the event.
Organisers went ahead despite the former chief-of-staff to John Howard telling the Senate on Wednesday he would leave the frontbench temporarily. Finance Minister Mathias Cormann was believed to be the understudy.
"I was invited to the dinner and will be attending what I hope will be an enjoyable evening,'' Mr Hanson said. ''Senator Sinodinos is a well-respected figure in the community and the Liberal Party and has done the decent thing by standing down while this issue is pending.''
He stepped down as the Independent Commission Against Corruption investigates his involvement with Australian Water Holdings.
