Man, 69, dies in car crash near Wagin

A 69-year-old Woodanilling man has died after his car collided with another vehicle, before rolling down an embankment in Wagin, on Sunday afternoon.

Just before 5pm, a blue Holden Commodore was travelling along Great Southern Highway, approximately four kilometres from the Wagin town centre, when the female driver appeared to lose control of her car and collided with a Mazda panel van coming in the other direction.

The 69-year-old driver of the Mazda died after his car left the road and rolled onto the driver's side.

The Commodore burst into flames, but the 17-year-old female driver managed to escape.

She was taken to Wagin Hospital for treatment.

Police want anyone who was travelling in the area at the time who saw the crash or the either of the vehicles prior to the crash to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
