Kenneth John Kirkman of Oxley was charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol on August 19. Stopped by police on Drakeford Drive, Greenway, Mr Kirkman recorded a level-four blood alcohol reading.
ACT legislation provides for alcohol concentration readings of 0.15g or more to be classed as level four.
During a brief hearing on Wednesday, Chief Magistrate Lorraine Walker said Mr Kirkman was a repeat offender and would be required to face court again on October 11 this year.
She said bail conditions imposed by the court meant Mr Kirkman must not be in the driver's seat of a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
A pre-sentence report will be prepared for the court.
