The trial of a man who allegedly beat a Canberra grandfather to death on New Year's Day in 2014 has been delayed until April or May next year.

Danny Klobucar, 27, stands accused of murdering Miodrag Gajic, with police alleging he thought the grandfather was a paedophile who had a DVD of him.
Mr Gajic was found dead on his floor with head injuries when friends visited his Mansfield Place unit about 2pm.
According to court documents, Gajic's blood was also found on a shoe found in Danny Klobucar's car after the murder.
Klobucar was arrested on the night of the murder at the Lighthouse pub in Belconnen in relation to other offences.
He has been in custody since January 2014 and was charged with the murder in March last year.
Klobucar was committed to stand trial in ACT Supreme Court in September 2014 but delays in obtaining a psychiatrist's report have postponed proceedings.
On Friday, Klobucar's barrister John Purnell, SC, complained about the crown's delay in securing a psychiatric report in the ACT Supreme Court.
He said the defence was prepared to commence the trial in November had it not been postponed.
Justice Richard Refshauge made no rulings on the delays but warned the prosecution there would need to be "very extraordinary circumstances" for the trial to be delayed once again.
Klobucar has maintained pleas of not guilty and remains in custody.
The matter has been adjourned until February 2016 with a three week trial expected to begin in April or May, subject to availability.
According to court documents, Klobucar had gone to Mr Gajic's Phillip unit about 1pm on December 30 to buy cannabis.
But Mr Gajic allegedly said to return on New Year's Eve because he had sold out.
Soon after, Klobucar allegedly pointed to Mr Gajic's car and said: "The blue Nissan Micra is a gay car, he must be a paedophile selling drugs and he might have a DVD relating to me from my past".
Klobucar allegedly returned between 10.20am and 11.20am on January 1.
Police allege he knocked Mr Gajic to the ground and inflicted fatal injuries with three to four blows to the head.
He is then accused of dragging Mr Gajic's body up the hallway and stealing his LG mobile phone.
Court documents allege Klobucar used the phone to call two associates later that day.
A police crime scene was established at Mr Gajic's unit, with investigators finding shoe prints in blood in the hallway, lounge room and kitchen.
Police allege a shoe found in Klobucar's car matched the print from the crime scene.
