Kerry Roy Bye, 25, is accused of raping and assaulting the 19-year-old at his Cook unit, after they met outside Cube nightclub on November 13, 2015, a Friday morning.

The teenager's mother told the court in the man's trial on Wednesday that her daughter ate dinner at home that night. She said before her daughter left, at about 9pm, she gave the teenager $30 specifically to get home.

Her mother said she woke at about 4.20am to miss a call to the house phone. After identifying the call as from her daughter, she called her back, and said she heard her "very drunk" daughter calling out for her friend.

Her mother said she made five more calls to the mobile and sent text messages offering to come pick her up, but told the court none were answered.

"The next time I saw her was at 6.30 in the morning. I jumped up out of bed and she was already in the loungeroom," she said.

She said her daughter's first words to her that morning were "I've been raped".

"She was teary and upset.

"She was quite focused on reporting it to police, so that the person who had done this to her was brought to justice."

They called triple-0 and police arrived shortly after.

The mother said her daughter had visible marks on her neck, some bruising on her face, and had been saying that she had trusted someone she shouldn't have.

On Wednesday, the woman's friend also gave evidence about their night out. He denied they were taking drugs that night, and said messages he had exchanged with another friend about ecstasy were not about buying drugs for that night.

The Crown alleges Bye raped the woman, choked her and pulled her hair, before she escaped and was found naked, save for her socks, at the Cook shops carpark. A man delivering newspapers had dropped her at home.

Bye is charged with four counts of rape, two of sexual assault in the second degree, one count of committing an indecent act and one of unlawful confinement.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
