Federal Employment Minister Eric Abetz will speak, his first public appearance on the issue, along with ACT Chief Minister Katy Gallagher, Opposition Leader Jeremy Hanson and Sue Packer, head of the government expert reference group.
The day, starting at 11am, is organised by the Fluffy Owners and Residents Action Group, whose spokesperson Brianna Heseltine said it was a chance to show support for people caught up in the asbestos fallout.
A donated car will be raffled to kick-start a fund-raiser Ms Heseltine hopes will help Queanbeyan residents, whose houses were never cleared under the clean-up 20 years ago and who have not been included in the Canberra solution being rolled out by the ACT and federal governments.
